ATOM Festival helps build science capital, partnering with schools to engage young people, and offering family-friendly events at weekends encouraging everyone to develop a passion for science and its potential to change the world.

The festival brings together world-leading organisations and scientists in Abingdon. Our headliner Peagram Lecture has in past years featured speakers such as Hannah Fry, Jim Al Khalili, Helen Czerski, Professor Cath Green OBE and Professor Brian Cox CBE.

ATOM Festival has had support over the years from local institutions including Oxford University, UKAEA, Abingdon School and Oxford Brookes.

Our team has included world-renowned scientists, science authors and individuals currently working in ground-breaking research, as well as local community members, education leaders and events specialists.
Locally-based author, Professor Frank Close, has been a speaker and supporter of the festival over many years.
If you are in the science sector you should be checking out the opportunities for partnering with ATOM Festival in the future.
